Body of another woman found in Thembisa, South Africa — TimesLIVE
The body of a woman was found on Saturday morning in Thembisa South, South Africa. Police confirmed only that a body had been discovered in the Vusimuzi area and said crime scene experts and other services were working at the scene, TimesLIVE reports.
The woman’s identity, the circumstances of her death and the cause of death have not yet been established. Police said they would provide additional information after initial investigative steps are completed.
Investigation into the deaths of women
The discovery of the body came less than two weeks after the murder of 38-year-old runner Elizabeth Tsontso Moselakgomo in nearby Rhodesfield, close to Kempton Park. She went missing on September 9 after leaving home for an afternoon run. Her body was found on September 12 behind a hotel in Rhodesfield.

According to police, Moselakgomo’s murder is being investigated as part of a broader probe into the deaths of women in the Ekurhuleni area. Law enforcement officers had previously confirmed that the bodies of nine women had been found over two months. A specialized multidisciplinary investigative team is examining whether some of these cases may be linked.
Residents’ concerns
On September 17, the body of Gracious Nkomo, who was preliminarily believed to be about 30 years old, was found in Dawn Park, Boksburg. The body was semi-nude and wrapped in a sheet. Earlier that month, the body of another woman, estimated to have been about 20 years old, was discovered in a stream in Clayville near the Mall of Thembisa shopping centre.
The series of cases has heightened anxiety among local residents. Some women in Rhodesfield have changed their daily routes, avoid going out alone and join together in groups. At the same time, police have not confirmed that all these deaths are linked and have not said that a serial killer is involved.
