In Turkey, a drone crashed onto the grounds of a police station
On August 19, in the Turkish province of Trabzon, a drone of unknown origin crashed onto the grounds of the police station in the Arsın district. According to preliminary reports, no one was killed or injured in the incident, and law enforcement officials have launched an investigation.
“I extend my best wishes for a speedy recovery to all our fellow citizens who were injured as a result of the explosion of the drone that crashed into cars in the courtyard of the Arsın District Police Station,” the statement reads.
The mayor noted that the relevant police units have taken the necessary safety measures, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
“The fact that no one was killed or injured is our greatest consolation,” the official emphasized.
Earlier, Turkey tested a drone designed to launch other drones.
As a reminder, Uber Technologies and Zipline have agreed to launch autonomous delivery of Uber Eats orders via drones in the U.S. The first such deliveries are scheduled to begin by the end of 2026.
