In the UK, the SUM Tarasivka community center paid tribute to Ukrainian heroes
In the British county of Derbyshire, at the well-known headquarters of the Ukrainian Youth Association “Tarasivka,” the traditional annual ceremony honoring the memory of Ukrainian heroes took place.
The Ukrainian Embassy in the United Kingdom reported this on Facebook.
The memorial event was attended by diplomats from the Ukrainian Embassy in the United Kingdom, representatives of the clergy, and leaders of the country’s leading diaspora organizations.
This year’s commemorative event was timed to coincide with Heroes’ Day—a special day when the Ukrainian nation pays tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives in the struggle for Ukraine’s freedom, sovereignty, and independence.
Together with the diaspora, representatives of the diplomatic mission remembered by name the fallen defenders of many generations.
The Ukrainian diplomatic mission expressed its deep gratitude to the Ukrainian community in the United Kingdom, the Ukrainian Youth Association, the Union of Ukrainians in the United Kingdom, the Organization of Ukrainian Women, and the clergy.
The organizers were thanked for their consistent advocacy of our country’s interests on the international stage and their unwavering, comprehensive support for today’s defenders during this difficult crisis period.
The diplomats emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and national identity abroad. Joint events organized by the European Ukrainian community demonstrate unity and an unshakable belief in Ukraine’s victory.
