Ukrainians abroad will form Chains of Unity

On August 24 at 7:00 p.m., Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine around the world will take to the main streets of their cities to join hands and form living “Chains of Unity.” The event aims to unite Ukrainians abroad and draw the world’s attention to Ukraine on Independence Day.

Participants will gather in the main streets of their cities and, joining hands, will form symbolic chains in support of Ukraine.

The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“The goal of the campaign is to unite Ukrainians living abroad around Ukraine and once again draw the international community’s attention to our country. On this day, Ukrainians in different corners of the globe will be able to demonstrate their unity and remind the world: borders may separate us, but Ukraine unites us,” the ministry noted.

The event takes place outside Ukraine. At the same time, those in Ukraine can support the initiative by telling their relatives, friends, and acquaintances abroad about it, so that the event reaches as many cities around the world as possible.

This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

As a reminder, the Coalition of Volunteers will gather in Kyiv on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Temporary traffic restrictions will be in effect in the capital from August 22–25 due to security measures involving foreign delegations.

Over the weekend, August 22–23, the weather in Kyiv will change. Saturday will still be hot, but rain and moderate temperatures are expected in the capital on Sunday.
