A Ukrainian national has been charged with a new offense in the "Nord Stream" case

Germany has updated the European arrest warrant for Vladimir Zhuravlev, who is suspected of involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The charge of “war crime” has been added to the warrant.

This was reported by the law firm “Katerynchuk, Moor & Partners,” which is representing the defense.

On September 4, the law firm announced that the court hearing in Croatia regarding Zhuravlev’s extradition to Germany had been postponed—it was originally scheduled to take place that same day, Friday.

“The reason is that the German side updated the European arrest warrant and added the new charge of ‘war crime’ to it. For the defense, this marks a new stage in the fight for the rights of a Ukrainian citizen.... We will report on further developments in the case immediately,” the statement reads.

Earlier, Tusk called on Germany to release the suspects in the Nord Stream sabotage.

A second Ukrainian has been detained in Croatia in connection with the Nord Stream sabotage case.

The investigation into the alleged sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines is now entering a new phase. The defense attorneys for Ukrainian soldier Serhiy Kuznetsov reported that they had only received the indictment from the German side the day before. According to them, they now have about two months to review the case materials in detail and prepare their defense.

In Germany, charges have been filed against a Ukrainian national in the Nord Stream case.
