Kyungpook National University in Daegu plans to launch a new major in Mobile AI Engineering, linked to employment opportunities at Samsung Electronics. Student enrollment for the program is set to begin in the 2027 academic year, according to the Korea Herald.

The university is reorganizing its existing bachelor’s program in mobile engineering into a combined bachelor’s and master’s program. The new major will be offered by the School of Electronic Engineering and is designed for a total of 20 students.

The program will combine four years of undergraduate study with two years of graduate study. The university noted that the integrated format will allow students to earn both degrees in at least five years.
