Usyk has lost key members of his team ahead of his upcoming fights

There have been personnel changes in Oleksandr Usyk’s team—his coach and manager have left his staff. Their departure is reportedly linked to internal changes within the team and tensions in the boxer’s inner circle.

There have been notable changes in the team of Ukrainian world boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk, which have already sparked discussion in the sports community, as both his coach and manager left his staff at the same time, and the boxer’s former promoter offered his explanation of what is happening within the team.

According to him, coach Yuriy Tkachenko and manager Egis Klimas have left the Ukrainian’s team, and during Usyk’s most recent fights, other specialists were already working in his corner—specifically, coach Yegor Golub and cornerman Ras Anber. “Where was Usyk’s coach from his previous fights? He left. For the same reason that Egis Klimas and I did,” Krasyuk noted, commenting on the situation within the team.

He had also previously explained that he decided to end his collaboration with the Ukrainian boxer due to changes within the team, which, according to him, affected the working atmosphere. Krasyuk claims that Usyk has begun to trust people more who do not question his decisions and agree with everything he does.

Yuriy Tkachenko, who has worked with Usyk since 2018, is a Merited Coach of Ukraine and is known for his work with a number of Ukrainian boxers, including Denys Berinchyk and Yevgen Barabanov. He has not publicly commented on the reasons for his departure. In boxing circles, these changes are already being called an important milestone for Usyk’s team, as the stability of the coaching staff often plays a key role in preparing for major fights.

Against the backdrop of these events, people are also recalling the Ukrainian’s last fight against Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhuven, after which the opponent himself expressed respect for Usyk and recalled his victories in the heavyweight division, emphasizing that he would like to have a rematch in the future. This was reported by Usyk’s former promoter, Oleksandr Krasyuk, on his Instagram page while answering questions from followers.

As a reminder, the soccer balls to be used at the 2026 World Cup will need to be charged before each game via built-in motion sensors.

The Spanish national team is the top favorite to win the World Cup, according to the Opta supercomputer. The list of main contenders for the title also includes the teams from England, France, and Argentina.
