Tourist missing near Edith Falls in Australia
Police in Australia’s Northern Territory are searching for 61-year-old tourist Dominic O’Connell, who went missing near Edith Falls in Nitmiluk National Park near the city of Katherine. ABC News Australia reports that the man was last seen near the lower pool of the popular waterhole between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Divers to join the search
According to police, O’Connell arrived in the area with his wife. Law enforcement officers and Parks and Wildlife NT rangers have already conducted an extensive search using various resources, but have so far been unable to find the man.
Police said divers are expected to begin searching in the water in the morning. The lower pool at Edith Falls has been closed to visitors and is accessible only to participants in the search operation. Edith Falls itself remains open to visitors.

Police ask witnesses to come forward
Law enforcement officers noted that there were many people near the waterhole when O’Connell was last seen. They are asking everyone who was in the lower pool area between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday to come forward.
According to the police description, the missing man has a slim build, is about six feet tall, has shoulder-length brown and white hair, and a short beard. He was last seen shirtless, wearing white shorts with a black and blue pattern and glasses with dark blue frames. The man has noticeable tattoos on both shoulders.
