An 18-year-old female tourist was found alive in Australia after an eight-day search
In the Southern Highlands of the Australian state of New South Wales, 18-year-old tourist Lily Hooper, who had gone missing while hiking, was found alive. The search lasted eight days, according to ABC News Australia.
New South Wales Premier Chris Minns confirmed this information during parliamentary budget hearings. He said the young woman was found in a wooded area; she had half a bottle of water with her.

On the morning of August 12, Lily Hooper set out from her home southwest of Sydney for Nattai National Park. Her car was later found near the Bonnum Pic Walking Trail.
New South Wales Police deployed a helicopter equipped with thermal imaging technology for the search and analyzed telecommunications data to determine the hiker’s last known movements. Minns thanked the police, the state’s Emergency Services, the Australian Defense Force, and the hundreds of volunteers who joined the operation.
