In Estonia, gap between Isamaa and Center Party has nearly disappeared — ERR News

In Estonia, support for the Isamaa party in a new Norstat poll fell to 23.3%, while the Center Party received 22.2%. Thus, the gap between the two political forces has nearly disappeared. The data are based on the combined results of a survey of 4,000 Estonian citizens of voting age conducted from August 17 to September 13.

Positions of the ranking leaders

Isamaa's rating became the party's lowest since November 2023. Two weeks earlier, it was supported by 25.3% of respondents, in the second week of August by 26.4%, and at the beginning of June by 27.3%.

Support for the Center Party has mostly remained at 21–22% throughout the year. ERR News notes that the narrowing gap between the ranking leaders is primarily linked to the decline in support for Isamaa.

In a separate weekly survey involving 1,000 respondents, the Center Party overtook Isamaa: 23.3% versus 21.6%. In the same study, the Reform Party was ahead of the Social Democratic Party — 14.7% versus 14.0%.

Ratings of other parties

According to the four-week combined data, the Social Democratic Party ranks third with 15.8% support. A week earlier, its rating was 15.9%, and in July it was 13.5%.

The Reform Party received 13.8% support — the last time such a figure was recorded was in February this year. It is followed by the Conservative People's Party of Estonia, EKRE, with 12.1%, and Parempoolsed with 7.5%. For Parempoolsed, this is the highest result in Norstat polls in the party's history.

Eesti 200, which is part of the governing coalition, has had 1.6% support for the fourth consecutive week. The combined rating of the coalition parties was 15.4%, while that of opposition parties in the Riigikogu was 73.4%. Based on the current ratings, Isamaa could receive 26 seats in parliament, the Center Party 25, the Social Democrats 17, the Reform Party 14, EKRE 12, and Parempoolsed seven.
