Oscar-winning musician Glen Hansard died in a car accident in Ireland
Irish musician and Oscar winner Glen Hansard died in a car accident near Dublin. The artist was 56 years old.
According to his family, the accident occurred on the morning of July 29. Paramedics arrived at the scene and attempted to save the musician, but he died from his injuries. The circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
Hansard was the founder of the band The Frames and a member of the folk duo The Swell Season. He gained worldwide fame for his role in the film *Once* and the song “Falling Slowly,” which won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2008.
Throughout his career, the musician also released several solo albums and recorded songs for Hollywood films.
