Israel unveils solidarity song featuring voices from 17 countries
In Israel, on the eve of the third anniversary of Hamas's attack on the south of the country on October 7, 2023, the international song The Whole World Sings Together was released. The recording features voices representing 17 countries. The project was created and produced by Friends of Zion Heritage Center founder Mike Evans, The Jerusalem Post reports.

The music video features the United States, Israel, China, India, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, Hungary, Iran, Yemen, Germany, Argentina, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, and Mexico.
Friends of Zion said the initiative is intended to unite people of different languages and cultures around the message that the Jewish people are not alone. The organizers call on people in different countries to watch and share the video, as well as sing the song on October 7.

Inspired by a 1985 song
According to Evans, the idea was partly inspired by We Are the World, a 1985 charity single written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones. At the time, dozens of renowned American musicians recorded the song as part of the USA for Africa project to raise funds to help people affected by famine in Africa.
The new song is dedicated to the memory of the October 7 victims, solidarity, and recovery. Its recurring line conveys the idea that the whole world sings together. The official music video has already been published on YouTube.
