Pet owners are required to arrive with their animals two hours before departure. Pets must have proper documentation and a valid veterinary certificate. They are placed in special boxes and transported in separate compartments.
At Hangzhou East Station (Zhejiang Province), staff explained that the boxes are equipped with smart water supply systems and emergency ventilation. During the journey, attendants monitor temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels. A passenger transporting his cat from Beijing to Hangzhou described the 460 yuan (around $66) fee as a convenient and reasonable option.
