A pregnant doll with slime has sparked controversy online
Toy manufacturer Zuru has unveiled a new pregnant doll that has already sparked heated discussions on social media. To “give birth” to the baby, the toy’s owner must take out a special bag of slime and literally squeeze a tiny baby out of it.
Some users have called the toy interesting and educational, while others find it strange and even creepy. The new product sparked particularly lively discussion after a viral video by British blogger Louise Boyce.
The company Zuru has introduced a new toy called My Mini Baby Mom & Surprise. It’s a pregnant doll with a removable belly section, inside which is a realistic amniotic sac containing a small plastic baby and slime.
To “deliver the baby,” you need to open the doll’s belly, remove the sac, and squeeze it. After that, a baby emerges along with a small amount of slime. The product description on Amazon states: “Unwrap your precious newborn: each mom doll comes ready to give birth to a unique baby, complete with a soft blanket.”
The toy is currently available for pre-order in the UK. British blogger Louise Boyce drew particular attention to the new product by recording a video of her reaction. The clip quickly went viral. While watching, Boyce didn’t hide her surprise. She jokingly asked where the doll’s “husband” was and also quipped about what exercises she must have done to get her flat stomach back so quickly after “giving birth.”

In the comments below the video, users’ opinions were divided. Some people found the toy too strange, while others took it with a sense of humor. One user, who works as a midwife, wrote: “As a midwife, I’ve NEVER seen a circular C-section… this is something new.”
Another joked: “Oh! No one ever explained that I was just flipping my belly over.”
Yet another user admitted she couldn’t decide how she felt about the new product: “I can’t decide if it’s educational, horrifying, or a little bit of both.”
While some users believe that such a toy can help children better understand the topic of childbirth, others are convinced that such a realistic concept is more shocking than educational. That’s exactly why My Mini Baby Mom & Surprise has already become one of the most talked-about new products on social media, according to PEOPLE.
