Warsaw police have detained a Ukrainian teenager on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack

In Warsaw, law enforcement officers detained a 15-year-old Ukrainian citizen who had been searching the internet for instructions on how to carry out a terrorist attack at a shopping mall and kill a police officer. By court order, the teenager was temporarily placed in a youth correctional facility.

Information about the minor’s alarming online activity was uncovered by officers from the Warsaw Police Department. Officers from the Department for Combating Acts of Terrorism and Homicide, as well as specialists in juvenile affairs and social prevention, were brought in to investigate the case and identify the suspect. During a search of the teenager’s residence, law enforcement officers seized a laptop and a cell phone, which were handed over to experts for analysis.

In Poland, prosecutors have filed charges against a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen suspected of a knife attack at a monastery in Jarosław. If found guilty, he could face life imprisonment.

A Ukrainian man was admitted to a psychiatric hospital following a fatal attack in Poland.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack by a Ukrainian citizen on the Benedictine nuns’ abbey in the Polish city of Jarosław, which resulted in the death of a priest and injuries to four other people.

The attack took place on the morning of September 24 on the grounds of the Jarosław Abbey on Benedyktyńska Street. Around 9:30 a.m., police received a report of a stabbing. According to preliminary information from the Polish police, a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen stabbed four men and one woman. All of the victims were taken to the hospital. Three men sustained serious injuries, and the fourth died at the hospital.
