Nevada widow wants to provide for grandson through inheritance — MarketWatch
A 72-year-old widow from a small town in the U.S. state of Nevada said she plans to leave all her property to her eldest grandson. According to her, he cannot manage finances independently because of severe mental illness, and her greatest concern is providing for him after her death.
Property and support for grandson
As the woman explained, the value of her property is about $400,000, but it depends on the value of her investments. The transfer process after her death has already been determined for most of her assets: bank accounts have payable-on-death designations, while transfer-on-death arrangements have been made for the house and car. Beneficiaries are also listed for the investments.

Her grandson lives three states away from his grandmother. She currently helps him with about $1,000 a month, she said, using, among other things, savings that are decreasing.
Experience with an estate case
The woman also said that she previously served as the executor of her neighbor's estate. According to her, it took hundreds of hours, and her own estate-related expenses exceeded $10,000. Her appeal to a financial advice column was reported by MarketWatch.
