Venezuela Accuses the US of Carrying Out Attacks in Caracas and Nearby States
The Venezuelan government has accused the United States of what it describes as “military aggression,” saying that several areas of the country — including Caracas and the states of Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira — came under attack, with strikes reportedly affecting both civilian and military locations.
The statement followed reports of several explosions in Caracas during the night, accompanied by the sound of low-flying aircraft. Authorities said the situation is being treated as a security threat to the population and to national sovereignty.
According to the government, President Nicolás Maduro has ordered the implementation of national defence measures “at the appropriate time and circumstances,” in line with the constitution and national security legislation. Tensions remain high, and further developments may shape the political and security outlook in the country.
