Vance delivered a secret message from Trump to Iran through intermediaries

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance held closed-door talks on Tuesday, March 31, with Pakistani officials who are mediating the conflict between Washington and Tehran.

According to Reuters sources, Vance was acting on direct orders from Donald Trump, attempting to secure an end to the war, which has been ongoing for five weeks. The message included both a proposal for a ceasefire on American terms and a stern warning against further escalation.

According to the information released, the vice president delivered a “stern message” that Trump’s patience is running out. If Iran does not agree to the demands in the near future, the U.S. will increase pressure on the country’s critical infrastructure. At the same time, Vance confirmed the White House’s readiness to halt hostilities if Tehran makes concessions that satisfy the strategic interests of the United States.

J.D. Vance’s growing role in resolving the Middle East crisis underscores his status as a key player in the administration and a likely successor to Trump in the 2028 election. Despite his skepticism regarding prolonged military interventions, Vance is currently coordinating the efforts of a special negotiating team that also includes Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner. The Pakistani side continues to serve as a diplomatic channel, conveying U.S. demands to the Iranian leadership amid the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz and oil market instability. The outcome of this ultimatum may become clear as early as during Donald Trump’s expected nightly address to the nation.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had received a message from the new leader of the Iranian regime requesting a ceasefire. Trump is willing to consider this possibility only on the condition that the Strait of Hormuz is fully opened for the free and safe passage of ships.

As a reminder, the IRGC announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and is threatening a “harsh response” to ships.

The Strait of Hormuz could also become the “Trump Strait.”
