Vance says U.S. has made progress in talks with Iran – CNN
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the U.S. side is reportedly making some progress in negotiations with Iran. At the same time, he acknowledged that Tehran does not always provide satisfactory responses during diplomatic talks.
This was reported by CNN.
“This morning, I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, as well as with a number of our friends in the Arab world... I think we’re making progress,” Vance said.
According to him, the fundamental question is whether enough progress has been made to meet U.S. President Donald Trump’s “red line.”
In particular, Vance noted that the administration remains focused on ensuring that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons. He called this the central criterion for any agreement.
“The red line is very simple,” Vance said, adding that the president “must be confident that we have put in place a series of safeguards to ensure that Iran never obtains nuclear weapons.”
