Video: A massive fire broke out in Bronnitsy, in the Moscow Region
On July 17, a major fire broke out in a parking lot in an industrial zone in the city of Bronnitsy, Moscow Oblast, Russian Federation. A massive column of black smoke rose above the town and was visible from various parts of the city. The cause of the fire and information about possible casualties are still being determined.
According to Russian media reports, the fire began when vehicles caught fire.
“We received a report of vehicles catching fire in an industrial zone in the Ramensky Municipal District, in the city of Bronnitsy, at 6 Vyborozhny Proezd,” the emergency services reported.
Initially, emergency services received a report of a fire involving two “Gazel” trucks and two fuel tankers. However, damage to the tanks caused a significant fuel spill, which greatly complicated firefighting efforts. The fire instantly spread to other vehicles parked nearby on the site.
According to the latest reports, the area affected by the fire has rapidly expanded and now covers approximately 5,000 square meters.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 58 people and 20 pieces of equipment are involved in fighting the fire. Fire and rescue units are attempting to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further, as there is a risk that the flames could spread to a nearby administrative building.
