Video: Sikorsky Calls for Punishment of Polish Politician for Damaging UPA Monument
Calls have been made to hold Grzegorz Braun criminally liable following the vandalism of a memorial to UPA soldiers in the Lublin Voivodeship. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski called on the court to imprison the politician.
The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the actions of Grzegorz Braun, leader of the far-right “Confederation of the Polish Crown” party, who vandalized a UPA memorial in the village of Białystok in the Lublin Voivodeship.
Sikorski stressed that the controversial politician must face severe punishment for his actions and expressed hope for a swift court decision.
“He risks ending up in prison. That’s where he belongs,” the minister stressed.
According to Sikorski, Braun is a representative of the far right and has a reputation in the country for being radical and toxic. He has already been formally charged with a number of other offenses.
“Grzegorz Braun is a representative of the far-right wing of Polish politics. He is a fascist, an anti-Semite, and a criminal. In particular, he is accused of destroying a Jewish menorah in the Polish parliament, as well as of denying the Holocaust,” the diplomat asserted.
The Polish minister added that Braun is so toxic that no one would even consider forming a coalition with him, according to the European Parliament.
As a reminder, Sikorski had a disagreement with Navrotsky’s spokesperson over the ambassador to Ukraine.
Prior to that, Sikorski disagreed with Trump regarding Ukraine’s strikes on Russian oil refineries.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Ukraine was allegedly causing a diesel fuel shortage in Russia by attacking its oil refineries.
