Video: The Ukrainian flag was raised in the heart of the European Union
On August 22, it was reported that a blue-and-yellow flag had been raised outside the European Commission building in Brussels ahead of Ukraine’s Independence Day, which will be celebrated on August 24. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the flag should fly proudly in the very heart of the European Union, where Ukraine belongs.
The head of the European Commission posted a video showing the Ukrainian flag being raised in Brussels. “So that it may fly proudly in the very heart of our Union, where it belongs. Ukraine will restore its security. Its freedom. And it will take its rightful place in our Union,” von der Leyen emphasized.
