The DNS equipment warehouse in Vladivostok, which caught fire on July 31, was a major logistics facility belonging to DNS—one of Russia’s largest retailers of digital and home appliances. DNS is headquartered in Vladivostok and has an extensive logistics network for the storage and distribution of goods throughout Russia.
The fire at the warehouse broke out on the morning of July 31. The fire covered an area of approximately 5,000 square meters; more than 40 firefighters and 10 pieces of firefighting equipment were deployed to extinguish the blaze. The situation was reported to be difficult due to the rapid spread of the fire and damage to the building’s structure.
What Was Stored in the Warehouse
Given DNS’s business profile, such logistics centers typically store a wide range of electronics and household appliances, including:
- smartphones and tablets;
- laptops, computers, and components;
- televisions and monitors;
- home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen appliances);
- networking equipment, accessories, and digital electronics.
DNS is one of the largest electronics retailers in Russia and operates through a network of stores, warehouses, and pickup locations. In Vladivostok itself, the company has a number of stores and warehouse locations.
