Sochi authorities have urged residents to drive less due to a gasoline shortage
In Sochi, local authorities have asked residents and tourists to limit their use of private vehicles due to a fuel shortage at gas stations. Officials attributed the gasoline shortage to supply disruptions and increased demand, which led gas station chains to impose restrictions on fuel sales.
The city administration recommended using public transportation or walking whenever possible to reduce the strain on gas stations and help the situation return to normal more quickly. Drivers were also urged not to create a rush of demand and to follow traffic rules near gas stations, where long lines have already formed.
According to local residents, wait times at gas stations can last several hours, and in some cases, up to half a day. Fuel shortages have been reported not only in Sochi but also in other regions of Russia, where there are also reports of limits on gasoline sales and supply disruptions.
