Strikes on oil refineries in Russia have led to a gasoline shortage, particularly of AI-95

Russia is facing a gasoline shortage amid ongoing attacks on oil refineries.

This is reported by Russian media, citing exchange trading data and industry sources.

According to the information, on May 8, gasoline sales on the exchange fell to 32,640 tons, which is nearly 6% less than the previous day. In particular, sales of AI-92 fell by 8.9%, while sales of AI-95 rose slightly, but demand for it significantly exceeds supply.

Market sources note that against the backdrop of the high-consumption season, a shortage of AI-95 gasoline has already emerged. The situation is attributed to shutdowns and emergency repairs at refineries following drone strikes, as well as a decline in oil processing volumes.

It is reported that some plants have been temporarily shut down, and resuming operations could take more than a month, increasing the risk of further fuel shortages this summer.

Attacks on oil refineries have costRussia over $7 billion since the start of the year — WP.

As a reminder, the day before, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Tuapse oil refinery for the fourth time in the last two weeks. A massive fire broke out on the refinery’s grounds following a series of explosions.

As a reminder, drones attacked Tuapse again, causing fires at the refinery and in the port.

In Tuapse, refinery capacity has decreased following the latest attack.
