War refugees from Ukraine in the United States face a food crisis

Ukraine's war refugees in the United States are facing a food crisis. Yuriy Boyechko, CEO of Hope For Ukraine, said this in an interview, noting that many refugees have received notices of reduction or cancellation of their SNAP benefits, which provide food assistance. According to him, such changes were the result of the policy of the new Big Beautiful Bill, which affected about 300,000 Ukrainians who are legally in the United States.

Boyechko noted that these families are now faced with the choice of paying rent or buying food.
