Voyager reports Golden Dome contracts and engine production in the US
US company Voyager Technologies said it has several contracts supporting the Golden Dome initiative, as well as developing production capacity for rocket engines in Pueblo, Colorado. Matt Magaña, president of the company’s space, defense and national security division, discussed this in a sponsored Breaking Defense article.
Contracts and interception
According to Magaña, Voyager has submitted additional proposals in several Golden Dome areas, some of them jointly with partners. The company is also exploring opportunities to integrate its technologies into existing programs where they can quickly add new capabilities.
One of Voyager’s key areas, the representative said, is interception during the boost phase and during target engagement. The company offers trajectory-change and attitude-control systems, guidance and navigation equipment, radiation-hardened computing systems, sensors, star trackers, as well as data transmission and communications solutions.
Magaña noted that space systems are used for navigation, observation, missile tracking, and command and control. He also pointed to the spread of electronic warfare capabilities and the need to protect valuable space assets.

Throttleable propulsion and the Colorado complex
Voyager is investing in a propulsion system with throttleable thrust. Magaña said the company went from a clean-sheet design to a full-scale hot-fire test of the DACS system in less than several hundred days. He added that the technology is based on more than 11 years of investment.
According to the Voyager representative, such propulsion systems can be started and stopped. The company believes this makes it possible to extend operation during target engagement, save energy, and improve strike accuracy. Voyager also supports a new DARPA program on solid-propellant rocket motors with throttleable thrust control for various missions.
In February, the company began construction of the Voyager American Defense Complex in Pueblo. According to Magaña, the buildings have already been erected, equipment installation is underway, and booster motors are already being shipped from Colorado. More than a thousand silos for storing raw materials and finished products are available at the site.
Magaña called mixing, grinding, assembly, testing, and storage important for scaling production. He also said that Voyager is working with critical chemicals and the localization of their production.
