Iraq dismisses Maysan commander after attacks on Saudi Arabia
In Iraq, Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali al-Zaidi dismissed the commander of the Maysan Operations Command after attacks on Saudi Arabia. Anadolu Agency reports, citing a statement from the Iraqi side.
Investigation into the command
Ali al-Zaidi also ordered an investigation into the Maysan Operations Command. It is responsible for security in Iraq’s southeastern Maysan province.
The statement says that on Friday, the launching of attacks on the “brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” from one of the facilities in the province was confirmed. The nature of the attacks was not specified in the statement.
