A man who attacked a fellow citizen with a knife was deported from Poland to Ukraine
A 32-year-old Ukrainian citizen was deported from Poland after brutally assaulting another Ukrainian and threatening to kill him. The man was also barred from entering Poland and other Schengen Area countries for five years.
On August 23, police detained the man on suspicion of committing new crimes.
According to the investigation, in a town in the Suski County, he seriously injured another Ukrainian citizen with a knife. After the attack, the man also sent the victim text messages threatening to kill him and cause him bodily harm.
On August 25, police handed the suspect over to border guards in Zakopane, simultaneously filing a motion for his expulsion from Polish territory.
It turned out that the 32-year-old Ukrainian already had a valid conviction from the District Court in Sucha Beskidzka in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
He had previously been found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol and without the required driver’s license.
In addition, during the inspection, border guards determined that the man did not have a valid document entitling him to legally stay in Poland.
His information was also included on the list of foreigners whose presence in Poland is undesirable.
After completing the necessary procedures, the man was transported to the border crossing in Medyka, where he was handed over to Ukrainian authorities.
At the same time, he will be subject to a five-year ban on entry into Poland and other Schengen Area countries.

Earlier, Andrzej Szliwka, a member of the Polish opposition party “Law and Justice,” called for the deportation from Poland of Ukrainian men of draft age who do not have legal employment. He stated that such people could be used to form at least one brigade to participate in the war against Russia.
Prior to this, the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party proposed deporting Ukrainian men of draft age who are not working legally in Poland.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław is monitoring reports of an attack on three Ukrainian citizens in the town of Kozhukhiv in Poland’s Lubusz Voivodeship. Polish law enforcement authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident and its possible motives.
On the evening of August 1, in the town of Kozhukhiv (Lubusz Voivodeship), three Ukrainian citizens—37-year-old Volodymyr, 32-year-old Vasyl, and 28-year-old Adelina—were attacked. The incident took place on the private grounds of the hostel where the victims were staying.
