The next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the "Ramstein" format is scheduled for June 18 in Brussels.

This was reported bySuspilne, citing informed sources.

The meeting is set to take place on the eve of the NATO defense ministers’ meeting, which will also be held in Brussels.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the key topics of the upcoming meeting back in April. According to him, the main priorities include strengthening air defense, supporting Ukrainian forces on the front lines, and developing technological cooperation with partners.

The previous meeting took place on April 15 in Berlin. It was held at the level of defense ministers of NATO member states.

Defense ministers Boris Pistorius of Germany, John Healey of the United Kingdom, and Mykhailo Fedorov of Ukraine, as well as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, attended the meeting in person. The remaining participants joined online.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that following the meeting, partners reaffirmed their continued support for Ukraine and made new contributions to defense programs, specifically the PURL.

The head of state said that the decision on new contributions to the PURL program from five partners had been confirmed.

On the same day, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that countries supporting Ukraine need to increase investments to provide $60 billion in defense aid this year, in addition to the funds to be allocated by the EU as part of a joint loan.

Ukraine called on its allies to create a “railway Ramstein.”

In the Mykolaiv region, Russian troops attacked a passenger train operated by Ukrzaliznytsia. The company reported this.

In the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone struck a commuter train. No passengers were injured in the attack, but the train driver and his assistant were wounded.

Russia is carrying out targeted attacks on civilian railway facilities, with the main activity recorded in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
