UT Bank founder supports Ghanaian President Mahama
In Ghana, the founder of the defunct UT Bank, retired Captain Prince Kofi Amoabeng, said that President John Dramani Mahama is, in his opinion, doing a good job and promised to support the government’s development program. The businessman made the statement after meeting the head of state at his private residence on September 8, 2026.
Meeting with the president
Amoabeng said that he discussed several issues of national importance with Mahama. In a Facebook post, he noted that he is ready to support the president in every possible way in the work of building a better Ghana.

Amoabeng’s previous statements
In December 2025, Amoabeng had already publicly assessed Mahama positively. At that time, he described the president as a down-to-earth, humane and extremely humble person, adding that these qualities had not changed since Mahama was vice president.
The businessman also advocated for greater support for local businesses and described efficiency and innovation as important factors in Ghana’s economic development. He urged entrepreneurs to create companies that benefit society and to adhere to professionalism and responsible leadership.
