Zelenskyy instructed the ambassadors to engage partners in the "Freya" missile defense project
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed Ukrainian ambassadors to recruit new partners for the European anti-ballistic coalition and the “Freya” joint missile defense system project. He made this statement during a meeting with ambassadors in Kyiv, according to “European Truth.”
Zelenskyy called the creation of a joint Ukrainian-European anti-ballistic system one of Ukraine’s most ambitious ideas. According to him, “Freya” should become a priority for diplomats; it will be quick to produce and will be tested in real combat operations.
The president stated that Ukraine is capable of producing both the missile and the launch system. At the same time, an effective anti-ballistic system requires cooperation with European countries and companies that possess radars, sensors, and other necessary equipment.

Negotiations on the coalition are taking place in a trilateral format: involving the head of state, the national security adviser, and the manufacturer or manufacturers of the necessary equipment, Zelenskyy said. The coalition includes Ukraine, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, as well as 12 manufacturing companies.
According to the president, the project is open to other participants capable of strengthening European security. In particular, he invited countries that do not have the relevant manufacturing capabilities but possess Patriot interceptor missiles to join and use them to invest in Ukraine’s ability to defend its airspace.
