British Prime Minister Takes a Vacation Two Weeks After Taking Office – The Times
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham went on vacation just two weeks after taking office. The opposition criticized this decision, stating that the head of government should devote more attention to fulfilling his duties.
It has been reported that aides insisted the prime minister go through with his vacation plans following an exhausting by-election campaign in Makerfield, which was followed by preparations to take office as prime minister.
Downing Street declined to disclose where the prime minister is heading for his family vacation. He will be accompanied by personal security detail.
A spokesperson for Bernam stated: “The government continues to operate as usual: the Prime Minister remains in contact with government officials, holds meetings, and receives regular briefings on government affairs.”
Louise Hay, First Secretary of State, will be the highest-ranking government minister officially on duty this week, but sources emphasize that she will not be acting as prime minister.
Lee Anderson, leader of the Reform UK party, accused Burnham of shirking his duties.
“After just two weeks in office, Andy Burnham is already tired. After reneging on a series of promises for which no funding had been allocated and allowing more than 2,000 illegal migrants to enter our country, he fled abroad to have fun. This is not the kind of prime minister who takes leadership seriously,” he said.
Downing Street does not usually disclose details of the prime minister’s travel plans for national security reasons.

The airline had to rearrange seat assignments to accommodate him on board, freeing up a seat for his security detail. He was regularly photographed on board this budget carrier eating Pringles while wearing headphones.
