King Charles III's niece announced the birth of her daughter
Princess Eugenie of York, the niece of King Charles III of Great Britain, has become a mother for the third time. She gave birth to a daughter at a hospital in Lisbon, and the baby girl is now 15th in line to the British throne.
The baby girl was born on August 3 in Lisbon, Portugal. The newborn weighed 2.8 kg. Eugenie, 36, shared the happy news on Instagram. The princess wrote that she and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are overjoyed following the birth of their daughter. “Jack and I are so happy to announce the birth of a Brooksbank baby girl! We are madly in love with our daughter,” she wrote.
The baby’s name has not yet been disclosed. Buckingham Palace also responded to the girl’s birth. Officials there reported that King Charles III, the Queen, and other members of the royal family “were delighted to hear the news.” The newborn will not hold the title of Her Royal Highness. However, she is 15th in line to the British throne.
Eugenie and Jack’s third child
The girl is the third child of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. The couple already has two sons. Their eldest son, August Philip Hawk, was born in 2021. Their youngest, Ernest George Ronnie, was born in 2023.
Eugenie works as the director of the Hauser & Wirth art gallery in London’s Mayfair district. Her husband, Jack Brooksbank, previously worked in the hospitality and marketing industries. Eugenie is the daughter of Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson. Her father is the brother of King Charles III.
Andrew was stripped of his royal titles and honors after details of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein came to light. At the same time, both of his daughters—Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie—have retained their titles, although they do not perform official royal duties. For Andrew, the birth of his granddaughter marked yet another family milestone: he has now become a grandfather for the fifth time, according to the BBC.
