Zelenskyy Discussed European Integration, the Drone Deal, and Energy with von der Leyen

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the NATO summit, during which the two sides discussed Ukraine’s European integration, steps toward signing the “Drone Deal,” and preparations for the winter season.

The head of state emphasized the importance of opening the remaining negotiation clusters in the near future and maintaining momentum on the path to the EU. During the talks, the teams focused on the next steps and the timeline for concluding the “Drone Deal,” and also coordinated their positions ahead of upcoming international events in Ukraine and abroad.

The parties paid particular attention to the energy sector and ensuring the country’s resilience regardless of how events unfold, noting their shared interest in ending this war before winter. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the fulfillment of previous agreements, the provision of energy support, and the joint development of new ideas to ensure the security of all of Europe.
