Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned him the day before that Russia was preparing a large-scale airstrike against Ukraine. According to the Polish prime minister, Kyiv had accurate information about the impending attack.
Tusk recalled that on Wednesday he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Lublin, where an air raid alert had already been issued that night due to the threat of a Russian attack.
“The president warned me that they have precise information that Russia will carry out a massive attack on Ukraine. That there are well-founded fears that Russia will intensify its attacks on Ukraine, particularly airstrikes,” the head of the Polish government stated.
The prime minister emphasized that Poland will continue to develop cooperation with Ukraine in the field of modern missile defense systems, regardless of political debates or temporary disagreements.
“I want to emphasize very clearly that the government will work closely with Ukraine on security issues,” Donald Tusk noted.
According to the Polish prime minister, support for Ukraine remains one of Warsaw’s key priorities.
Tusk emphasized that Poland is helping Ukraine not only out of solidarity and a desire to prevent a Russian victory, but also because the war directly affects Poland’s own security.
Donald Tusk made this statement during a coordination meeting in Lublin, which was urgently convened after an unidentified object violated Poland’s airspace.
