Zelenskyy has appointed a new Ukrainian ambassador to Bahrain

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Oleksandr Balanutsa as Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The corresponding decree No. 333/2026 dated April 22 was published on the website of the Head of State.

"To appoint Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Balanutsa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Bahrain on a concurrent basis," the document states.

Zelenskyystated that negotiations regarding Ukraine cannot wait for the war in Iran to end.

U.S. Special Representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner confirmed their intention to visit Ukraine, though a specific date for the visit has not yet been set. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that Kyiv is awaiting their arrival and maintains constant dialogue with the U.S.

Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov reported that Ukraine is moving toward possible agreements with Russia. According to him, there has already been some progress, and a resolution to the war may not take long.
