Zelenskyy and the Norwegian Prime Minister Discussed Energy and Air Defense in Yerevan
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during his visit to Yerevan. The head of state expressed his gratitude for Norway’s significant support, particularly for its contributions to the PURL program totaling nearly $1 billion.
He announced this on social media.
The parties discussed the strategic partnership in detail, paying special attention to the implementation of the Drone Deal and joint efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. A separate item on the agenda was cooperation between the private and public sectors of both countries to strengthen defense capabilities.
An important topic of the meeting was preparations for the upcoming heating season and Ukraine’s energy resilience. Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the Norwegian side of the country’s natural gas needs for the winter. The Prime Minister of Norway confirmed his country’s readiness to provide the necessary assistance so that Ukraine enters the cold season prepared. Norway currently remains one of Ukraine’s key partners in the field of energy security.
