Journalist Jefferson Sackey speaks about his transition into politics in Ghana
In Ghana, journalism veteran and communications specialist Jefferson Sackey described in his memoir, Purpose, his decision to leave the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and enter active politics. He decided to follow the then Foreign Affairs Minister, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, after he left the government in 2007.
Sackey spoke about this episode of his career during the book presentation on September 14, MyJoyOnline reports. According to him, the decision to follow his former supervisor in political activity became an important turning point in his professional life.

Sackey worked in Ghanaian media for many years, covering important events and interviewing prominent newsmakers. In his memoir, he also describes his own journalistic journey and changes in the media industry.

Foundation for young journalists
During the presentation, Sackey announced the establishment of the African Media and Democratic Foundation. The initiative aims to mentor and train young journalists from across the African continent.
According to the author, proceeds from Purpose will be directed to the foundation's mentoring program. Sackey also called the book an appeal to young people from modest backgrounds and stressed that starting circumstances do not determine a person's future.
