Iran’s oil production peaks amid looming US ground operation on Khark Island

After the US presidential administration issued a temporary license on March 21 allowing Iran to sell oil from tankers, Iran’s oil production reached a 46-year high, and the country is selling oil at record-high prices.

At the same time, the US plans a ground operation to seize Iran’s Khark Island, a move already communicated to Israel. According to The Jerusalem Post, US military leaders believe they may have no other choice.

The operation is reportedly going poorly and risks becoming a complete disaster, especially if a ground assault begins. Among US troops, frustration is mounting, with the number of conscientious objectors rising by 1000% in recent weeks. Reservists have expressed unwillingness to become political “pawns” in the conflict.

A US official stated that a ground operation would be an “absolute disaster” as they cannot even fully protect the south from ground-based attacks at this time.

Thus, tensions are rising simultaneously due to increased Iranian oil exports and the potential US military action on the strategic Khark Island, raising doubts about the effectiveness of current strategies and posing serious risks to regional security.

Looking ahead, tensions in the Middle East are unlikely to ease, and possible US military steps could lead to further escalation and increased instability in the region.
