Russian shelling has caused power outages in eight regions of Ukraine
As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, on July 22, some consumers in eight regions of Ukraine are temporarily without power. At the same time, there are no plans to implement rolling blackouts.
According to the agency, due to enemy attacks, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions remain without power.
Energy workers are working around the clock to restore power as quickly as possible. Emergency repair work is ongoing 24 hours a day.
The Ministry of Energy noted that no electricity consumption restrictions are expected on July 22. At the same time, Ukrainians were urged to shift the active use of electrical appliances to daytime hours—from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.—whenever possible.
According to information from NPC “Ukrenergo,” electricity consumption is currently declining. As of 9:30 a.m. on July 22, it was 8.5% lower than at the same time the previous day.
The decrease in demand was caused by a drop in air temperatures in most regions of Ukraine, which reduced the use of air conditioners. The previous day’s daily peak consumption was also lower—by 1.5% compared to the previous day.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
As a reminder, on Wednesday, July 22, Ukraine does not plan to implement any electricity consumption restrictions.
In the Donetsk region, Russian shelling damaged the office of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
