Kim Soo-hyun to make first public appearance in South Korea in over a year
South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun will make his first appearance at a public event in his country in more than a year in September. He will present an award at The Fact Music Awards ceremony, which will take place on September 19 in the southeastern city of Busan, Korea Herald reports, citing representatives of the awards’ organizing committee.

According to the publication, the actor almost completely suspended his activities in South Korea after allegations related to his relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron. In February 2025, the actress was found dead at her home; she was 24.
In March 2025, the YouTube channel Hover Lab, run by conservative YouTuber Kim Se-ui, circulated claims of an alleged relationship between Kim Soo-hyun and the actress during a period when she was a minor.

Allegations and police decision
That same month, Kim Soo-hyun confirmed at a press conference that he had been in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron, but denied claims that it took place when she was a minor. He also filed defamation complaints against Kim Se-ui and the late actress’s family.
Police recently closed the case concerning the allegation of a relationship with a minor, made by Kim Sae-ron’s family, due to a lack of evidence. Kim Se-ui was arrested on suspicion of spreading false and fabricated information about the actor.
Kim Soo-hyun has also recently appeared on a live television broadcast in Indonesia. In October, he plans to meet fans in the Philippines.
