Olena Mozgova expressed her support for Iryna Fedyshyn due to her lack of a title
On August 28, producer Olena Mozgova expressed her support for singer Iryna Fedyshyn, who did not receive a state title in time for Ukraine’s Independence Day. Mozgova stated that she considers Fedyshyn a People’s Artist even without official status, emphasizing that “she doesn’t need those medals.”
Olena Mozgova believes that Iryna Fedyshyn doesn’t need official confirmation that she is a People’s Artist. After all, she has the love and recognition of the Ukrainian people.
“I read Fedyshyn’s husband’s reflections on the topic of ‘not being awarded the title’… but she is, in fact, truly a People’s Artist, and she doesn’t need those medals… I still don’t understand why our artists are so eager to receive these titles—‘Honored,’ ‘People’s’… but it’s not these titles that determine your worth and significance; they don’t demonstrate the love of the people,” the producer believes.
Olena Mozgova admitted that she, too, had wanted her father, People’s Artist of Ukraine Mykola Mozgovyi, to be posthumously awarded the title of “National Legend of Ukraine.” However, the artist’s daughter later realized that her father was already a legend even without this title.
“A couple of years ago, I really wanted Dad to be awarded this ‘Legend of Ukraine’ title… I had that little sin. But then I sat down, thought about it, and said to myself: Would he really stop being a Legend if the authorities—who invented this title in the first place—didn’t give it to him? No! Of course not! When Dad came on stage and I was hosting the concert, I’d ask him, ‘How do you want me to introduce you?’ He always told me… ‘Just Mykola Mozgovyi!’” Mozgova shared.
