Nigerian actor Baba Elesho undergoes surgery and denies cancer rumors
Nigerian Yoruba actor Adewale “Baba Elesho” Adeoye underwent surgery and is recovering, Premium Times Nigeria reports. The Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) said the operation was successful and that its former president is in stable condition.
Cancer rumors
Concerns about the 67-year-old actor’s health arose after videos and photographs showing a noticeable wound on his face appeared on social media. Some users, without medical confirmation, suggested that it could be a sign of skin cancer.
Baba Elesho himself denied such assumptions in an interview with BBC Yoruba. He described the problem as minor and said the wound should heal soon. According to the actor, he initially went to a pharmacy instead of seeking medical help through the proper channels.
