On their wedding anniversary, Yuriy Felipenko's widow called on people to honor his memory with a donation
Kateryna Motrych, the wife of Ukrainian actor and soldier Yuriy Felipenko, who was killed in action, on the second anniversary of their wedding, July 4, shared her memories of that day and called on people to honor her husband’s memory by making a donation to support the Ukrainian military.
Kateryna Motrych said that the wedding took place two years ago in a botanical garden, which the couple had planned to visit every year on their wedding anniversary. However, since her husband’s death, she has not been able to return to that place even once.
“Today marks the second anniversary of Yurchik and my wedding. It was so beautiful. Everyone was happy. We were infinitely happy. We exchanged vows. We broke the wedding loaf. We stepped onto the wedding towel. We laughed a hundred times. The botanical garden became the setting for this beautiful, peaceful ceremony, organized in just two days. We planned to go there every year to celebrate our anniversary. I still haven’t been back there,” she wrote.
According to Motrych, this year they had planned to mark their anniversary in a special way: to take a photo together at the botanical garden and announce a fundraiser for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I’m so sorry that Yurik isn’t here with me. I’m so, so sorry. If Yura were alive, we would have gone to the botanical garden, taken a nice photo, and posted it with a donation link,” the blogger noted.
She called on her friends, acquaintances, and followers to celebrate their anniversary by donating to support Ukrainian defenders.

Yuriy Felipenko and Kateryna Motrych got married in the summer of 2024 after five years of dating. That same year, the actor enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, completed military training, and joined the “Achilles” strike unmanned aerial vehicle battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Battalion. He was later killed while carrying out a combat mission.
