Vaness Wu dismissed allegations regarding his wife's age and education
Taiwanese-American singer and actor Vaness Wu stated that claims regarding allegedly false information about the age and education of his wife, Japanese singer Emi Aramaki, are untrue. In a statement released through B’in Music, he said that Aramaki is 31 years old and graduated from University College London (UCL).
According to Channel NewsAsia, online posts drew attention to Aramaki after Wu announced their marriage in June. The Taiwanese media outlet Next Apple News, citing a reader, reported that Aramaki had previously been described as a 35-year-old UCL graduate, but university alumni allegedly could not find any records of her.
According to the publication, photos of Aramaki at social events with students from British universities—including the University of Cambridge and King’s College London—in 2015–2016 were also allegedly circulating online. The author of the letter to the media questioned the lack of public photos or other evidence of her studies and graduation.

There was also separate discussion of a photograph allegedly showing Aramaki at a high school prom in 2013. Wu dismissed these allegations and stated that her age and the fact that she graduated from UCL can be verified.
Wu and Aramaki registered their marriage in Las Vegas in May, and the following month, the singer announced it on social media. According to CNA, Aramaki was born in Fukuoka, moved to London at the age of nine, and returned to Japan in 2024 to pursue a career in music. That same year, she released her debut Japanese-language single, “Purple Dream.”
