Slepakov Faces 400 Hours of Community Service in Russia for Posts That Were Not Marked as Coming from a Foreign Agent

The Russian prosecutor's office has requested 400 hours of community service for comedian Semyon Slepakov in a case involving violations of legislation regarding so-called "foreign agents." This was reported by “Mediazona” from the courtroom of Precinct No. 214 in Moscow’s Lomonosovsky District.

According to the prosecution, Slepakov, who allegedly “harbored hostility toward the activities of the Russian president and the armed forces,” published several posts on Instagram in January 2026 without the required “foreign agent” label.

One of them featured a video of the comedian performing a parody of the song “Mother Earth.” The song includes, among other things, the line “Little dictator, little dictator, eternal little president!”

Slepakov’s attorney, Alexander Aldaev, stated that his client had submitted a statement to the court. In it, the comedian noted that he had left Russia back in 2022 and had not posted any material on Russian territory or within its jurisdiction. According to the defense attorney, Slepakov was also not properly notified of the court proceedings.

The attorney pointed out that the indictment does not specify the exact materials for which Slepakov is being charged. Furthermore, the report on the inspection of his page mentions only one post, whereas the indictment refers to a longer period—up to January 30.

Asiya Matyunina, head of a department at Roskomnadzor, also testified in court. When asked by the defense what specific harm the unmarked posts had caused, she stated that readers must understand that the author is a representative of a foreign state.

According to the Roskomnadzor representative, even a simple message such as “Hello!” from a “foreign agent” must be labeled accordingly.
