Anatoliy Tkach, the drummer for the band “Ruki’v Bryuki,” was killed on the front lines

Anatoliy Tkach, a Ukrainian musician and drummer for the band “Ruki’v Bryuki,” who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in July 2024, was killed in action. He served in the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade.

 

Tkach joined the Ukrainian military in July 2024. Anatoliy, whom his friends called Soia, was killed on August 15. The musician’s sister, Valentina, shared the news of his loss on Facebook. According to her, Anatoliy was not only her brother but also her best friend.

“I can’t find the words. I never wanted to write this. My world feels like it’s been wiped away. Anatoliy, my brother, my best friend—he’s gone,” she wrote.

Valentina also noted that many people will want to say goodbye to the soldier. The family will announce the time and place of the funeral later. Oleksandr Remez, the leader of “Ruki’v Bryuki,” also reported on Tkach’s death. “Rest in peace, my principled, responsible comrade,” he wrote.

Pepper’s Club in Kyiv, where the musician performed for many years, also reacted to his death:

“This is a painful loss for our musical family. We will remember Tolik not only as a talented musician, but also as a kind, caring person, a friend, and a hero,” the venue’s statement reads.
