Former Big Bang Member Seungri Denies Assault Allegation in Seoul
In Seoul, South Korea, former Big Bang member Seungri has denied an allegation of aggravated assault filed by a man in his 30s. As The Korea Herald reports, police received a criminal complaint on August 26 and are examining the circumstances of the alleged incident. Law enforcement officers have not yet questioned Seungri.
Dispute at a Gangnam restaurant
According to Seungri, he was having dinner with two acquaintances at a restaurant in the Gangnam district when an intoxicated man repeatedly asked to join their group. After being refused, an argument broke out between them.
The former singer acknowledged that he was holding a bottle of alcohol when he told the man that he did not want him to sit with them. At the same time, he claims that he did not swing the bottle or threaten the other man.

Seungri's position
Seungri also said that they later drank together, exchanged contact details and parted on friendly terms. According to him, several hours later, the man sent a message saying that he would bring a business proposal the following week.
The former Big Bang member said he has CCTV footage and eyewitness testimony related to the incident. He stated that he would cooperate with police if questioned and is also considering filing a counter-complaint.
Seungri left Big Bang and the entertainment industry in 2019 amid the Burning Sun scandal. He was later found guilty on nine charges, including arranging prostitution, gambling, embezzlement and incitement to aggravated assault. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and was released in February 2023 after serving his sentence.
