Experts have refuted reports that a Lancet drone flew over Independence Square

A Defense Ministry adviser known by the call sign "Flash" has refuted claims that a Russian "Lancet" strike drone flew as far as Independence Square in Kyiv. In his view, Russian strike UAVs do not possess that kind of range.

Flash posted a corresponding message on social media.

“No ‘Lancets’ can reach Kyiv. These are strike UAVs with a small payload designed to strike frontline targets. These UAVs physically lack the battery capacity and radio control capabilities required. I believe the debris was likely deliberately dropped from ‘Shaheds’ as part of the enemy’s special information operation,” Flash noted.

According to him, information gathering for analysis of the events is ongoing.

“We are studying radio signals, radar data, and photographs from interceptor drones,” the expert wrote.

As a reminder, during the morning attack on March 16, one of the Russian drones managed to reach the very heart of the capital and crashed on Independence Square.

On the night of March 16, Russian occupiers carried out a massive air attack on the Kyiv region, deploying over 30 drones of various types.

Russian troops attacked a residential area in Zaporizhzhia: there is damage and people have been injured.
